The Nigerian Army has confirmed that a minor explosion occurred, on Monday, in a farmland near the Mammy Market within the Ikeja Cantonment in Lagos.
This is reported in a statement by the Director of Army Public Relations, Onyema Nwachukwu, in Abuja.
Mr Nwachukwu, a major general, said the explosion was suspected to have been triggered by the burning of refuse and other inflammable debris by a farmer who cultivated the farmland.
