This closure follows a series of recent events where numerous Nigerians, frustrated by disconnections related to the National Identification Number (NIN) policy, reportedly stormed MTN offices across the country.
The protests turned violent, leading to significant damage to several MTN buildings.
The NIN policy, which requires all mobile network users to link their numbers to their national identification, has faced criticism and resistance.
Many customers have experienced service interruptions due to incomplete NIN registrations, exacerbating tensions between the public and telecom companies.
MTN Nigeria has yet to comment on the long-term implications of this disruption or provide details on when their offices will reopen.
